Ryan Smith, Owner
Ryan has been with TWI since the fall of 2007. Beginning as a Project Manager, Ryan has created and implemented the systems & procedures necessary for the rapidly changing construction environment that has allowed Total Welding to emerge as a local industry leader. As the Owner, Ryan oversees and manages all aspects of business operations working closely with the entire management team.

Brad Koch, President
Brad joined TWI in the fall of 2018 with more than a decade of experience in estimating and project management within the commercial industry. Brad's focus is on the pre-construction efforts to work alongside our valued clients to select the best projects to pursue with detailed, accurate and comprehensive proposals. In addition, Brad oversees internal operations while maintaining current partnerships and foster future relationships with new clients to serve the goal of TWI being an indispensable project team member. Brad is a Colorado native and CSU Construction Management graduate who enjoys mountain biking, camping and time with his wife and two kids.

Matt Kible, Senior Project Manager
Matt has been in the commercial construction industry for over 15 years and has worked for Total Welding as a lead push Ironworker, previously. In between stints at Total Welding, he served as a General Manager for a large contractor before returning as a Project Manager. Matt is a United States Marine Corps veteran and, Colorado native and enjoys hunting, fishing, and camping with his wife and 2 kids.

Ryan Peterson, Project Manager
Ryan Peterson has dedicated 24 years to the steel industry, with 20 of those years spent hands-on, leading crews with skill, precision, and strong work ethics. Known for his on-site leadership and deep expertise in steel erection and construction, Ryan takes pride in building with integrity and mentoring the next generation of tradesmen. Off the jobsite , Ryan is a true outdoorsman. He enjoys fishing , hunting, and spending quality time with his wife, two children, and growing family of grandchildren. Weather he's guiding a steel crew or casting a line on a quiet lake, Ryan brings dedication, patience, and heart to everything he does.

Preston Smith, Project Manager
Preston joined TWI in the summer of 2023. He was an apprentice directly out of high school and enjoyed being an Ironworker. Having left to explore other opportunities in 2021 he returned to TWI, assisting the PM team until becoming a PM in 2023. Outside of work, Preston enjoys being a husband and father. He is passionate about spending time with his family, camping, and fishing.

Paul Schermann, Safety Director & QA/QC Manager
Paul has been in the commercial construction industry for almost 20 years, starting as an apprentice and working his way up to General Foreman. He left Ironwork for a short period to serve as a Project Manager for a large general contractor before returning to his roots and his real passion as an Ironworker. He brings his expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to Safety & Quality to his current role with TWI. Outside of work, Paul is a dedicated husband and father who enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and snowboarding.

Shelley Alcaraz, Office Manager
Shelley is a dedicated and invaluable member of TWI, having joined in the fall of 2019 and returning in the fall of 2023 after a brief departure. Shelley ensures seamless operations and fosters a cohesive work environment. Hailing from Colorado, Shelley brings a native touch to her role and finds joy in spending quality time with her husband, three daughters, and friends outside of her professional commitments. Her commitment to excellence and ability to keep the team "welded" together make her a key asset to the organization.
Angela Estrada, Controller
Angela joined TWI in the summer of 2024. Angela is an experienced and detail-oriented business finance manager, overseeing TWI’s internal financial operations. As a long-time business owner herself, Angela brings a strong understanding of both the financial and operational sides of running a business. This experience fuels her proactive approach to problem solving and ability to align financial strategies with broader business goals. She is excited to be part of Team Total and committed to contributing to the long-term growth of the company. When she isn’t working, Angela enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, animals, and gardening.

Anthony Baca, Estimator
Anthony joined TWI in the fall of 2021. He has been in the construction industry since 2011 as an estimator, project manager and office manager for a steel fabricator. His construction experience goes back to 1999 where he started in the residential industry. Anthony really enjoys family time and getting into the mountains for outdoor activities.

Aaron Segura, Project Coordinator
Aaron joined TWI in the fall of 2024. Aaron has spent the past 10 years in the construction industry, working across a wide range of specialties, including concrete, remodeling, heavy equipment operation, and building power lines. Prior to that, he served in the United States Marine Corps and co-owned a gun shop in Albuquerque, NM. Outside of work, Aaron enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, golfing, or playing cornhole.

Will Whetten, Yard & Equipment Manager
Will joined TWI in the fall of 2014. Will maintains and services equipment for TWI as well as works with each foreman to make sure each job site has the equipment and supplies they need to continue to run efficiently and smoothly.

Russell Price, Yard & Equipment Assistant
Russell joined TWI in the winter of 2024.

Our General Foremen, Foremen & Up-and-Coming Foremen are key personnel in overseeing successful projects in the field. This group of employees has combined for over 87 years of service with TWI and many more years of steel erection experience prior to joining our team.
